T-253 is a pair of handle loops with a built in center pin or nail. Made of brass plated steel, the handle loops measure 1 7/8" from end to end and are 5/8" wide.
These handle loops are suitable for use with T-106 and T-107. Handles are sold individually but end caps are sold in pairs so if you have two handles, you need to order a quantity of 2 end caps.
Handle loops or end caps were commonly seen on all sizes and styles of trunks and vintage suitcases. Their purpose was to attach a leather handle to the body of the antique trunk or case. It is very common for one or more of these end caps to be missing or damaged on your discovered treasure or family heirloom. Not quite the color you have in mind? A thorough sanding, a few coats of your color of choice (we like to use spray paint) with a final clear coat to protect the finish, is all it takes. Please be sure to not skimp on the prep to ensure that your color choice adheres strongly to the end cap.
