Cast Iron Porch Post Base with Matt Black Finish

Made of cast iron, this porch post base comes with a matt black finish and is coated to protect it from the harshest elements.

5.75 x 2 x 1 are the overall dimensions.  Each base has a load rating of 1000 lbs and keeps the post 1.5" off the ground to prevent rotting by keeping the bottom of the post from resting in a wet environment.

The bottom part of the post needs to have a hole to accept the pin from the base to keep it in place.  If you choose, it can be further secured using masonry or wood anchors (not included.)  Please note that while these  post bases are coated to protect them from the weather, they bottom of your porch post can still be encased in trim to cover the base while still ensuring that bottom of your porch post is protected from water wicking into the wood.
