Antique Hardware & More carries three types of furniture lock and key sets, flush mount, half mortise and full mortise. The difference betwee them is how they are mounted. A flush mount lock sits on the surface of your door or drawer and does not require that any material be removed for installation. A half mortise lock is partially recessed into the wood of your antique door or drawer. The face plate site flush or level with the wood of the door or drawer. A full mortise lock is recesses or dropped into the wood. The only portion of the lock that is visible is the strike plate which sits flush with the wood surface.
