Embossed Trunk Tin with Floral Pattern T-134

T-134 is embossed trunk tin.  This classic floral patterned tin is frequently used on the exterior of antique trunks.

The 26 gauge steel is 9 1/2" wide by .010 thick.

Antique trunks could be covered in any of a variety of materials. Tin, like our stamped trunk tin, was common, Also, plain tin was used frequently and sometimes in combination with the stamped tin. Leather or hid was used as well as fabric and paper. When you find an old trunk that has either been covered in a paper or fabric, the covering is often very deteriorated. Either can be replaced or you can remove the covering and take the trunk down to the wood box. The wood box can be sanded and stained, oiled, waxed for painted for a whole new and attractive look.
