Chippendale style heavily influenced furniture design from 1750 to 1770.   Chippendale style has similarities to the Queen Anne style but with stronger, stouter lines and more flourishes.  Chair backs from this period frequently have ribbon or ribband backs and legs that terminate in finely detailed ball and claw feet.   Like the Queen Anne style, Chippendale furnishings are seen in all rooms of the home.  Cabinetry was characterized by ornately carved feet that generally had very generous curves.

This style hardware was very popular on "Americana" furnishing that were very popular during the 1970's especially around the 1976 Bicentennial.
