Chippendale is a style style heavily influenced furniture design from 1750 to 1770 and is still popular today in today's bedroom, dinning room and living room furnishings.   The Chippendale style grew out of the Queen Anne style furnishings.  While it has a number of similarities, the primary differences include designs characterized by stronger, stouter lines and more flourishes while retaining the same high degree of elegance. Chair backs from this period frequently have ribbon or ribband backs and legs that terminate in finely detailed ball and claw feet or feet with generously carved detail.

This style hardware was also very popular on "Americana" furnishing that were very popular during the 1970's especially around the 1976 Bicentennial.

Chippendale cabinetry often used the same style of hardware in different sizes.  Highboys or Chests on Chests often used drawer pulls that were smaller on the top portion of drawers and larger on the bottom ones.
