Brass Plated Trunk Nails/Tacks in 5 Sizes

Brass Plated Steel Trunk Nails available in five sizes.  Each size has the same 1/4" diameter head.

These tacks can be pounded straight in like normal nail or can be pounded through the side of the trunk and then bent at a 90 degree angle or more.

Sold in 1/4 pound bags, the length of nail, and their corresponding approximate quantities are below.

While screws, nuts and bolts are often found in antique trunks that have been repaired or re-done, trunk nails are the traditional way in which they were originally constructed. If you have an old trunk, odds are that you have lots of trunk nails. What makes trunk nails more unique is that they are bent or curled over on the inside of the trunk to make for very secure construction. To achieve this, the nail is hammered partially in the wall of the trunk. Then a piece of metal (old cast iron iron's are a great choice) are placed on the interior and then the nail is driven into the metal resulting in the bend or curl.
